On 28 December 2021, the official ground-breaking ceremony for the new Mertinger Street in Asbach-Baeumenheim has taken place.  Thanks to this new street design, we can provide the best possible flow for production and our local manufacture processes.  Parallel to the construction work, we will shortly commence the works on our new office building.

GEDA celebrates the 90th company anniversary

Since it was founded in 1929 as a small repair company for agricultural machinery, GEDA has had 560 employees and seven locations worldwide in its anniversary year. At the bauma in Munich in April 2019, GEDA presented a completely new exhibition stand under the motto "THE NEXT LEVEL".

By the end of 2017, 500 employees worldwide are working towards GEDA's success. In order to improve the rising demand, another warehouse was built at the headquarters in Asbach-Bäumenheim.

Johann Sailer takes over the company shares

In January 2017 Johann Sailer takes over the company shares of the brothers Gerhard and Harald Dechentreiter, grandchildren of the company founder Georg Dechentreiter, and is thus the sole shareholder.

With the battery technology GEDA BatteryLadderLIFT is introducing a new generation of height-access technology. The world debut is the perfect complement to the GEDA small units range.

Establishment of subsidiary in Korea: GEDA Korea in Seoul

Due to the huge increase in demand for industrial hoists, both worldwide but especially in the Korea/Japan region, GEDA has set up its own company site in Seoul, Korea.

440 employees worldwide are now working towards GEDA's success and the company is once again on a growth path. At the end of 2014 work started on another 1,000 m² warehouse.

bauma 2013: Launch of the GEDA Multilift P22

The GEDA Multilift series, exhibited for the first time at bauma 2007, is now successfully established on the market and is used on construction sites worldwide. The series is now taking its success story to the next stage with the new GEDA Multilift P22 demonstrated for the first time at bauma 2013.

Trading under the company name GEDA MAJOR, the Turkish subsidiary will now be responsible for servicing the markets around the Bosphorus. Components for building maintenance units targeted specifically at local market requirements will be produced.

Construction of a 3,300 m² production and despatch hall for big and industrial elevators

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the production and despatch hall started operations at the end of November 2012. The 3,300 m² building has created the necessary capacity for the rapidly increasing demand in the big lift and industrial elevator sectors.

With the establishment of GEDA RUS, LLC in Moscow, GEDA is now in a position to extend its support to its customers in the Russian market which also includes service and maintenance operations as well as product training sessions.

To optimise service quality and its presence in the USA, GEDA establishes a site in Houston, Texas. GEDA USA, LLC supports existing customers and dealers, is responsible for handling projects and is expanding the sales and service network.

Only one year after their launch, the GEDA Multilift range lifts are off to a flying start. Therefore a 1,400 m² assembly hall with a ceiling height of 11.5 m was built at the head office site of Asbach-Bäumenheim for the production of the GEDA Multilift Range.

GEDA PH Range

In order to provide the market with a full product range with load capacities of 60 kg to 3.2 t, the PH Range has now been added to the GEDA product range. The masts enable both single and double car use.

At bauma 2007 GEDA launches a completely new dimension in personnel and material lifts, namely the GEDA Multilift Range.
To meet all national and international requirements, the well-known Z/ZP transport platform range was also further expanded.

GEDA invests EUR 3.5 million in a new production hall and warehouse at the Gera site.

The new GEDA Service Centre has a 780 m² hall and 300 m² of offices and training rooms. This is where all repairs and maintenance operations on GEDA devices are carried out and where comprehensive training courses for customers and dealers are held.

With the development of the Service Hoist, GEDA has developed a second string to its bow and is at the same time developing new markets. Its versatility means it can be used in a wide range of industrial application areas.

To complete the height access technology product range, the rope winch developed in-house by GEDA was launched at bauma 2004. The winch is used both as a temporary and a permanent device.

Takeover of BMG and new construction in Gera

Work starts on the new office premises and production halls in Gera.
Components using state-of-the-art technologies such as tubular laser systems and welding robots, etc. are produced at the new site.

GEDA purchases the Austrian lift manufacturer Ebbs & Radinger. This is how the transport platform GEDA ERA 1200 Z/ZP got its name and the GEDA transport platform family a new member.

The new premises in Bergkamen are occupied. Customers from the north and west and from the Benelux countries use this site as a collection point, service site and exhibition area.

Another milestone in the product range: The modular construction of the GEDA transport platforms combines two different devices into one, namely a pure materials hoist and a transport platform for people and loads.

To adapt to the ever-growing demands of the market and to improve service proximity especially to Eastern Europe, the company BMG in Gera (Thuringia) was purchased in 1991.

GEDA advances into new market segments: With its load capacity of 500 kg the GEDA 500 materials lift set big static challenges for its design which were however successfully overcome. GEDA 500 was mainly used by outfitting companies and scaffolders.

GEDA grows: The constant expansion requires new administration premises and a bigger production hall. In 1985 the new buildings are occupied.

The launch of the GEDA Lift sets new benchmarks for the GEDA product range. Sales of the GEDA Lift have now surpassed the 70,000 milestone. Back then mainly developed for roofers, the versatile inclined hoist is now used as a removal hoist, solar lift and a hang lift.

Son Georg Rudolf Dechentreiter takes over GEDA. He concentrates on the production and sale of construction winches.

Company Foundation

The company was founded by Georg Dechentreiter senior. This is the origin of the company name GEDA: GEorg Dechentreiter, Asbach. Back then the company sold and repaired agricultural machinery, with construction equipment following on later.
